On October 1, 1990, Constantino Saavedra Muñoz, former deputy mayor of the district of Quinua, province of Huamanga, was intercepted by members of the Army, along with Gilberto Aparicio and Plácido Juscamayta. The latter two were released the day after their detention. Nothing was ever heard again from Constantino Saavedra. (Report excerpt).
