The Huanca Sancos Case
The Huanca Sancos case involves serious human rights violations committed systematically by members of the Army and Police in Huanca Sancos, in the Ayacucho region, between February and March 1983, and encompasses four events: the extrajudicial executions in Huanca Sancos (February 17, 1983); the extrajudicial executions at the Puente Marita (February 25, 1983); the extrajudicial executions at the sites of Waqanapata and Trancapata (February 27 and 28, 1983); and the extrajudicial executions in the community of Pallcca and the site of Wisqiri or Wiskari (March 21 and 22, 1983).
