Hatun Willakuy, the Importance of the Account in Politics.
The final report of Peru's Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación is a central document for thinking about twentieth-century Peru and for envisioning a more just history in the century just beginning. The importance of this document is grounded in the information about 20 years of armed conflict, its causes and consequences, but above all it is relevant for its political value for democracy and justice in Peru. This article seeks to discuss both dimensions.
