Relatives of Putis Massacre Still Demand Justice
Despite eight years having passed since the Ministerio Público began investigations into the Putis massacre, which occurred in 1984 in Ayacucho, the Fiscalía Penal Supranacional of that region has not yet filed formal charges before the Poder Judicial. "The investigation has met the requirements for the case to be brought to court (...) in the course of the investigation several people have been called to testify and the final results of the exhumations of bodies found in five mass graves in the Putis area have been obtained," stated Milton Campos, the lawyer representing the victims.
