Memory and the Museum of Memory (2)
The subject has been widely commented on in the media and in blogs. One angle I found important is how to address the issue of memory and the promotion of the human rights cause in a context in which the cause of memory is riddled with contradictions, tensions, and is certainly not popular — especially among those it should serve most, that is, the population most affected by the violence. Unfortunately this issue, while present in the debates, has ended up buried beneath many other secondary topics and personal attacks, as tends to happen in blogs. Published on March 9, 2009.
