Yuyanapaq - Opinion Column

The government — as García has stated, accompanied by the complicit silence of Simon — does not oppose the German donation in favor of a museum commemorating what happened during the internal war of 1980–2000. At its core, the position being maintained is that the CVR Report — whose visual expression is the photographic exhibition known as Yuyanapaq ("To Remember") — should not be disseminated because it supposedly represents the interpretation of events from "only one point of view," and that there are others that were not captured by the CVR. Hence the claim that it is not serving the great objective of Reconciliation. Published on March 4, 2009.
