The Supreme Court Stakes Its Reputation
The president of the Supreme Court, Javier Villa Stein, traveled to Washington this week to respond to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights regarding alleged delays in cases brought to court at the request of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación (CVR). Villa Stein defended the performance of the institution he represents but also presented a plan for these trials to be concluded within a year and a half at the latest. Published March 26, 2009.
