Flores Aráoz: Creating the Museum of Memory Is Not a Priority for Peru
Defense Minister Ántero Flores-Aráoz defended on RPP the Peruvian Government's decision to reject a donation from Germany to build a "Museum of Memory" to honor the victims of the internal war caused by terrorist movements between 1980 and 2000. Although he acknowledged the importance of the project, Flores-Aráoz said he would prefer to direct that money toward food, since it is necessary to cover the population's basic needs.
