Ayacucho: Testimony of a Soldier

Author's note: "Having concluded expressing in writing, in the work 'Ayacucho': Testimony of a Soldier, some of the principal memories of the wealth of meritorious and heroic acts and of the virtues displayed concerning military honor, fulfillment of duty, professional dignity, loyalty to the homeland, personal and family sacrifice, and other virtues that form part of the mystique of the man and of the Tutelary Institutions of the Homeland, I express my permanent recognition and gratitude to the commanders and to each of the men of the Institutions of the Armed Forces and Police Forces that I had the honor of commanding, dedicating to them every word, sentence, paragraph and page for the patriotic labor fulfilled in the service of peace, tranquility and the rule of law, in the area that was declared in a 'State of Emergency' by the Constitutional Government. Much has been said and written against the Forces of Order, little has been expressed in their support and institutional recognition of the selfless, sacrificed and patriotic labor of the men who, in fulfillment of their mission, participated in the armed conflict has been limited."
