Monitoring Sexual Violence in Armed Conflict. In Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Peru

The Latin American region, during this century, has been affected by various armed conflicts, both international and internal. However, there is scarce literature on theory and indicators about how these conflicts impacted the lives of women, especially regarding experiences of sexual violence. Countries differ in that some continue in conflict, others are in peace processes, and others are implementing their peace and reconciliation processes. In these cases there are also no studies on women's participation in these processes, nor on their needs for truth, justice, and reparations following the violence suffered.
