The staging of the vladivideos — videos recorded by Vladimiro Montesinos that depicted his power to corrupt officials in Peru — speaks not only to the televisual environment of the current era, but also to the television climate created by Montesinos and Fujimori. This climate contributed to the vladivideo scandal but also limited the analysis of them, resulting in an absence of information about systemic corruption and reinforcing elements of corruption in Peru related to criolloism, (neo)populism, and neoliberalism.
