Nothing Personal. Human Rights Report on the Application of Surgical Contraception in Peru 1996-1998

This important book was prepared by Dr. Giulia Tamayo for CLADEM. Dr. Tamayo was a prominent lawyer and human rights researcher. This denunciation caused her problems of all kinds, including physical violence, assaults on her home, and interception of her written and telephone communications. The constant harassment she suffered was such that she was forced to flee the country with only the clothes on her back. We have been unable to find this book in libraries in Peru, nor is it available in bookstores. The digital version we offer was obtained from the only copy of the manuscript that Dr. Tamayo was kind enough to lend us. The book contains findings and conclusions on the application of surgical contraception in Peru during the presidency of Fujimori, which is estimated to have affected around 300,000 women, largely indigenous.
