Corpses from the Ñeque mass grave, Huamanga. In the outskirts of Huanta, in Ñeque, a number of common graves were found and exhumed on November 22, 1984, in the presence of family members, police, and judicial experts. Around twenty corpses were found and transferred to the city of Huanta. Among the victims was a uniformed schoolgirl who showed signs of having been raped. The executions are presumed to have been carried out by State agents.
