GENERAL STRIKE
Hundreds of citizens join the "general strike" of July 19, 1977 called by the Central General de Trabajadores del Perú, CGTP, to protest the economic crisis gripping the country. These demonstrations were one of the factors that destabilized the government of Francisco Morales Bermúdez (1975–1980).
