Kidnapping and murder of Victor Lozano and Manuel Soto
The PCP-SL kidnapped, tortured and shot to death Victor Lozano, communal authority of Chicche and delegate to the SAIS-Cahuide, and Manuel Soto, anthropologist of the NGO CICEP, in a desolate spot in Palmayoc in January 1989.
In January 1989, the PCP-SL kidnapped Víctor Lozano, communal authority of Chicche and delegate of his community to the SAIS-Cahuide, together with Manuel Soto, anthropologist and promoter of the NGO CICEP that maintained projects in the area. Both were tortured by the subversives. Later, they were shot to death in a desolate spot in the Palmayoc Community. This crime was part of the PCP-SL's campaign against community authorities and people linked to development organizations in the Canipaco valley area.
