Death of Consuelo Garcia

Consuelo García was a union leader assassinated in Lima during 1989. According to the records of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, she was a leader of Labor Unions or Federations of Workers, workers or employees. Her death was attributed to the Rodrigo Franco Paramilitary Group, a paramilitary group operating during that period. This murder occurred in a context of widespread violence against union and social leaders during the internal armed conflict.
