Death of Margarita Hilario Tacsa

Margarita Hilario Tacsa was a leader of a university student organization who died in 1989 in the department of Junín. Her case appears in the TRC database as one of the women leaders killed and/or disappeared during the internal armed conflict. Unlike other cases documented in the same period, the person responsible for her death could not be determined by the TRC. Her death was part of the context of generalized violence against social and political leaders that characterized 1989 in various regions of Peru.
