MRTA takes the town of Puerto Inca

On December 8, 1988, a commando of the eastern front of the MRTA took the town of Puerto Inca. This action was part of the operations of the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement in the eastern region of the country. The event occurred in a context of intense subversive activity during December 1988, which also included the kidnapping of businessman Carlos Ferreyros Aspíllaga a few days earlier and the demolition of 32 towers of the interconnected electric power system during the first 12 days of the month.
