Assassination of CICDA aid workers and villagers in Haquira

The PCP-SL killed two French and one Peruvian aid workers from the International Center for Cooperation for Agricultural Development (CICDA) in Haquira district, Cotabambas province. Two more people died in the incident. During the following month, the PCP-SL assassinated nearly 50 people in the highlands, including lieutenant governors, peasant leaders and abigeos.
