Exhumation of Jovita Garcia's body and subsequent disappearance
Prosecutor exhumed body of Jovita Garcia; two other bodies disappeared before second exhumation.
Prosecutor Carlos Escobar Pineda, accompanied by family members, arrived at the Pucutuccasa hill to exhume the bodies of missing persons. After excavating, he found three bodies, one of which was that of Jovita García Suárez. Due to time constraints, only Jovita's body was taken to the Cangallo Health Post for examination, leaving the other two bodies at the site. On August 18, when the Prosecutor returned, he found that the other two bodies were missing.
