Kidnapping of General Héctor Jeri García

Eight members of the MRTA kidnapped FAP general (r) and businessman Héctor Jeri García at the door of the CAPSA battery factory in La Victoria, Lima. The kidnapping was part of the actions of the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement during July 1988.

On July 7, 1988, eight seditious members of the MRTA kidnapped businessman General FAP (r) Héctor Jeri García at the main gate of the CAPSA battery factory, located in La Victoria, Lima. The kidnapping was perpetrated by a commando of eight members of the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement. The victim was a retired general of the Peruvian Air Force who worked as a businessman. The event occurred in the context of the intensification of MRTA actions during 1988.
