The second session of the First Congress of the Communist Party of Peru - Shining Path (PCP-SL) was held. This session took place between July and August 1988. The event took place in a context of intense subversive activity, parallel to an armed strike called by the PCP-SL from July 18 to 22. During this period, on July 24, El Diario published an extensive interview with Abimael Guzmán Reinoso in a supplement called the 'Interview of the Century'.
