Execution of leaders of Cooperativa Jocos
In July 1988, the PCP-SL executed Luis Paredes and Eloy Robles, leaders of the Jocos Cooperative in Cachachi, Cajabamba, as part of its strategy to liquidate associative enterprises in the region.
On May 10, 1987, the PCP-SL called a general assembly at the Jocos Cooperative in Cachachi, taking advantage of the celebration of San Isidro. Two months later, in July 1987, Luis Paredes took over the management of the cooperative, apparently following the directives of the PCP-SL, and proceeded to parcel out the land, including employees, former leaders and their children who lived in the city of Cajabamba and other places as beneficiaries. A year later, on July 10, 1988, Luis Paredes and Eloy Robles, former leader, were executed by the PCP-SL, thus sealing the definitive dissolution of the cooperative company.
