Disappearance of five people in Musuccllaccta

Five people were disappeared by Ayahuanco soldiers in Musuccllaccta in July 1988, during the intensification of the internal armed conflict in Huanta.

In July 1988, five people disappeared in the town of Musuccllaccta, Ayahuanco district, Huanta province. Those responsible for these disappearances were military personnel stationed in Ayahuanco. This event occurred in the context of the intensification of the internal armed conflict in the region, when the PCP-SL was launching a new offensive after declaring the transition to the 'strategic balance' stage. Forced disappearances were a common practice of the armed forces in the area during this period.
