Publication of CLOTCCC manifest
The CLOTCCC published its founding manifesto in El Diario, exposing the intentions of the PCP-Sendero Luminoso to infiltrate the union movement and promote permanent confrontation. The document presented various labor demands and sought to radicalize the workers' struggle on the Central Highway in Lima.
The Comité de Lucha de Obreros y Trabajadores Clasistas de la Carretera Central (CLOTCCC) published its founding manifesto in a full-page article in the newspaper El Diario. This committee was formed in May 1988 after a plenary meeting of approximately 100 delegates from various trade union bases from the eastern cone of Lima gathered in Ñaña. The manifesto was very clear about the intentions of the PCP-Sendero Luminoso in trade unionism, proposing to guarantee a situation of permanent confrontation under the principle that "rights and benefits can only be won through struggle". They presented demands such as an increase in wages to 500 intis per day, reduction of the working day, better working conditions, better medical attention and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
