First Plenary of Class Workers
Plenary convened by the PCP-Sendero Luminoso in May 1988 in Ñaña with some 100 delegates from the trade union bases of the eastern cone of Lima, where the Comité de Lucha de Obreros y Trabajadores Clasistas de la carretera Central (CLOTCCC) was formed as part of its strategy of trade union infiltration.
The PCP-Sendero Luminoso summoned some 100 delegates from various trade union bases from the eastern cone of Lima to participate in the so-called First Plenary of Classist Workers of the Central Highway. At this event, the Comité de Lucha de Obreros y Trabajadores Clasistas de la carretera Central (CLOTCCC) was formed. The founding manifesto of the CLOTCCC was published full page in the May 29, 1988 edition of El Diario. The event was part of the PCP-SL's strategy of infiltrating the union movement to guarantee a situation of permanent confrontation and presented demands such as an increase in wages to 500 intis per day, a reduction in the workday, better working conditions, better medical attention and compliance with collective pacts and agreements.
