Explosive attack at the University of Huamanga

In March 1988, an explosive device went off in the San Cristobal de Huamanga National University. This attack marked the beginning of the presence of paramilitary groups in the city of Huamanga. The attack was part of an escalation of violence that would later affect university teachers and workers. The university became a privileged space for violence during the internal armed conflict.
