Senate approves decrees on bank nationalization

The Peruvian Senate approved, without the presence of the opposition, to authorize the Executive to issue legislative decrees interpreting articles of the bank nationalization law. The session was held at the end of an extraordinary legislature.

On February 2, 1988, in the absence of the full opposition, the Senate approved to authorize the Executive to issue the necessary legislative decrees to interpret the two articles of the bank nationalization law, which the Executive sent to Parliament for interpretation. This approval came at the end of an extraordinary legislature convened in January to deal with the interpretation of two articles of the bank nationalization law and the regionalization of the country. The Senate also approved the amendment bill sent by the Executive on the regionalization law.
