Several days of military patrolling in Checcasa resulted in multiple arrests and threats of mass shootings.
A new military patrol was carried out with the objective of finding seditionists and seizing weapons. During this operation, which lasted several days, military personnel detained many residents of Checcasa and neighboring communities. On January 10, Magdalena Bazán Huamaní, Basilio Carbajal Chirhuana, Juan Esperanza Ayvar and Pedro Carbajal Roldán were arrested. A witness who managed to escape stated that the patrol chief had ordered the entire population of Checcasa to be shot if weapons were found.
