Massacre and forced distribution of cattle at Fundo Charquismo

Shining Path burned the Fundo Charquismo, killed 7 people and forcibly distributed cattle in 1988.

The Charquismo Farm of SAIS Illary was completely burned by the Shining Path. There were 7 deaths among peasants and workers in Huacauta. Sendero distributed the cattle without planning among the population, forcing them to take animals with them. The next day, the military and police forces repressed those they found with cattle, accusing them of being terrorists. This action was part of Sendero's strategy to destroy associative enterprises.
