March for Peace in Ayacucho

Peace March organized by mothers' clubs in Ayacucho, public confrontation with the PCP-SL.

In 1988, the Federation of Mothers' Clubs of Ayacucho participated in the organization of the March for Peace. They called together a group of institutions and in a public forum they openly questioned and confronted the PCP-SL. This action was an important turning point in the civil resistance against Shining Path violence and demonstrated the leading role of organized women in the struggle for peace.
