Wave of assassinations of local authorities in Abancay in January 1988
In January 1988, Abancay went through another violent period. There were several assassinations of local authorities including mayors, deputy mayors and governors. This wave of violence was evidence of the intensification of the PCP-SL's strategy of eliminating representatives of the State.
