Extraordinary Legislature evaluates bank nationalization and regionalization
In January 1988, the Executive Branch called an extraordinary legislature to evaluate the interpretation of articles of the law for the nationalization of the banking system and the regionalization of the country. The vote resulted in a tie and the Senate subsequently approved the measures in the absence of the opposition.
On January 20, 1988, the Executive Power called an extraordinary session of the legislature to deal with the interpretation of two articles of the law for the nationalization of the banking system and the regionalization of the country. During the session there was a tie vote on the bill for the interpretation of articles 13 and 14 of the law for the nationalization of the financial system. On February 2, in the absence of the full opposition, the Senate approved to authorize the Executive to issue the necessary legislative decrees interpreting the two articles of the law for the nationalization of the banking system. The Senate also approved, at the end of the extraordinary legislature, the amendment bill sent by the Executive on the regionalization law.
