Dissolution of SAIS-Cahuide agreed upon

In 1988, after years of conflict, the dissolution of SAIS-Cahuide was agreed upon and it was established that the land would be transferred to the partner communities, except for those in judicial litigation.

In 1988, the dissolution of SAIS-Cahuide was agreed after years of conflicts and attacks suffered by the organization since 1983. The Board of Directors of Transitional Administration and Dissolution and Liquidation of SAIS-Cahuide tried unsuccessfully to resolve the conflicts in the courts. In 1990, the Board issued a resolution explaining that since the dissolution of SAIS-Cahuide had been agreed upon in 1988, the respective transfer of ownership and possession of the land to the SAIS member communities would be carried out. However, the lands that were in legal proceedings, such as the Antapongo and Río de la Virgen properties, which were in dispute with communities such as Huasicancha, Chongos Alto and others, were exempted from this transfer.
