Agitation and propaganda trekking activities in Villa El Salvador
In 1988, the PCP-SL increased its agitation and propaganda activities in Villa El Salvador, participating in protest marches organized by leftist groups to question government policies and human rights violations.
Beginning in 1988, hiker agitation and propaganda activities became more visible in Villa El Salvador. Small Shining Path contingents participated in activities and protest marches organized by groups linked to the United Left (IU) in VES. Such activities and mobilizations were aimed at questioning government economic measures or human rights violations by the security forces. These actions were part of the Shining Path's intention to establish a more organic presence in the district, which had been developing since 1987.
