Subversive actions in Paucartambo and Huachón
The subversive actions of the PCP-SL in the districts of Paucartambo and Huachón began in 1988, being part of an area of operations that included several districts of Pasco and Junín.
The districts of Paucartambo and Huachón, located in the department of Pasco, together with Ninacaca, Vicco, Carhuamayo and Ulcumayo were part of the same PCP-SL area of operations. Subversive activity in these districts began around 1988, approximately six years later than in other districts in the north of Junín province. This area represented a strategic corridor for the mobilization of PCP-SL militants. Violence in this area culminated in 1992 with a series of massive incursions against local authorities.
