Massacre in Rinconada and recruitment of 15 minors
Shining Path murdered twelve ronderos and recruited 15 minors in Rinconada on Christmas Eve 1987.
On another bloody Christmas Eve, December 24, 1987, Shining Path raided the village of Rinconada near Pichihuilca. The terrorist incursion ended with the death of twelve ronderos. In addition, the Shining Path forcibly recruited 15 young boys and girls under the age of 14 and took them away. This attack exemplifies the combination of the massacre of adults organized in defense and the forced recruitment of minors.
