Murder of policeman in Huancayo

On December 3, 1987, a group of PCP-SL subversives assassinated a policeman in the city of Huancayo. This assassination took place in the context of an escalation of violence in the Mantaro valley, where selective assassinations against members of the forces of law and order had increased since the beginning of that year. The event was part of a series of "selective annihilations" that the PCP-SL carried out against police, military and authorities in the region. Days later, on the last day of 1987, another civilian guard was also murdered in Huancayo, demonstrating the intensification of attacks against the forces of law and order.
