Officialization of GRUDE by resolution to combat urban subversion, air piracy and hostage releases
GRUDE, which had been operating since 1986 without a resolution of creation, was formalized by RD. No. 31-29-DG-FFPP/DOES. The main purpose of its creation was to combat urban subversion, air piracy and the liberation of hostages. This DOES unit developed special operations in different areas of the country quite independently from the DOES leadership. The GRUDE remained at its San Bartolo Base until 02MAR88.
