Murders in El Montón hamlet
The PCP-SL assassinated the Lieutenant Governor, a former Justice of the Peace, a worker and his son in the hamlet of El Montón, Cachachi, Cajabamba, on August 23, 1987. They also shaved a teacher during the raid.
On August 23, 1987, in the hamlet of El Montón, Cachachi district, Cajabamba province, a column of the PCP-Sendero Luminoso executed four people. The victims were the Lieutenant Governor, the former Justice of the Peace, a local worker and his son. During the raid, the Shining Path also shaved a teacher's head. This action was carried out with the slogan 'Long live the heroism of July 26', in reference to the Shining Path cadres killed in the raid on Tabacal a month earlier, on July 26, 1987.
