Abduction of Fr. Marcial Couderc and parish leaders
P. Marcial Couderc and four parish leaders kidnapped for 12 hours by paramilitaries.
Father Marcial Couderc, pastor of Ayaviri and Vicar General of the prelature, together with four people responsible for parish movements, were kidnapped for 12 hours in the Sota farm of the Empresa Rural Umachiri, presumably by a paramilitary commando. The following day, Father Hilario Huanca Mamani, cooperating vicar of the parish of Ayaviri, was also detained on the same farm.
