Dialogue between FDCP and Minister of Agriculture

Dialogue between FDCP and government results in agreements on legalization of land seizures

A FDCP commission met with Minister of Agriculture Remigio Morales Bermúdez to discuss the May 19 land seizures. The government agreed to form a commission with the capacity to make decisions with the participation of communities and feudatarios, expressly excluding the managers. It also agreed to legalize the seizures and to adopt measures to prevent the looting of cattle. It was agreed to reorganize Agrarian Region XXI. One of the demands presented was the recognition of the FDCP as the highest central organization of the Puna peasantry.
