Shining Path PCP attack on the Pisac police post in the Sacred Valley of Cusco in May 1987, which resulted in the death of a policeman.
In May 1987, the police post of Pisac, located in the Sacred Valley of Cusco, was attacked by the Shining Path PCP. One policeman died as a result of the attack. This attack was part of a series of subversive actions in the Cusco region during 1987, which also included the attack on the Civil Guard headquarters in downtown Cusco in August of the same year. The attack on Pisac took place in the context of the expansion of PCP-SL actions towards the provinces of the department of Cusco.
