Attack on the police post in Checca and Quehue
Attack by 60 elements of the PCP-Sendero Luminoso against the police post of Checca and Quehue in Canas, Cuzco, which resulted in the theft of weapons, burning of the premises and a subsequent confrontation with two dead subversives and a civilian guard seriously wounded.
On February 5, 1987, approximately 60 elements of the PCP-Sendero Luminoso attacked the police post of Checca and Quehue in the province of Canas, Cuzco. During the attack, the subversives stole ammunition, two weapons and set fire to the police station. The civil guards pursued the attackers and an armed confrontation took place near Checca. In the confrontation Sonia Lino Ojeda and Janeth Vizcarra, members of the PCP-Sendero Luminoso, were killed, while guard Adolfo Flores was seriously wounded.
