Shining Path assassinates pro-Aprista leader Rodrigo Franco
Assassination of Rodrigo Franco, leader of the government party, perpetrated by Sendero Luminoso seeking to obstruct the consolidation of the bureaucratic model of Aprista fascism. This was the first of the attacks directed against leaders of the governing party in Lima.
