Around 1987, a female witness started a business selling beer and soda in her home in San José de Secce (Ayacucho) in order to meet her needs. One day, around 3:00 in the afternoon, the soldiers arrived to consume the beer as they usually did. Subsequently, the witness was the victim of rape by the soldiers. The perpetrator of the rape acknowledged his responsibility but pointed out that the woman "could not get pregnant just because of a single sexual act". The lieutenant promised her that "any of the chiefs would pick up the child", but to date, the child resulting from the rape has not been recognized.
