Murders in Huayllacayán
In 1987, the PCP-SL killed a peasant woman and an abigeo in Huayllacayán, Bolognesi, as part of its strategy to eliminate people with "antisocial behavior", which generated sympathy among some villagers.
Between 1987 and 1988, in the Nunumia, Cochas, Paca and Colpa basins in the provinces of Bolognesi and Ocros, the PCP-SL carried out murders of people considered to have "antisocial behavior" as part of its territorial control strategy. In 1987, in Huayllacayán, Bolognesi province, the PCP-SL killed a peasant woman and an abigeo (cattle rustler). These assassinations of "undesirables" generated widespread sympathy in the communities, who understood that these actions brought real justice in contrast to the ineffectiveness of the legal justice system and the police.
