In 1987, the police conducted two successive raids in Huaycán, arresting nearly 300 villagers. These operations continued intermittently until 1991.

In 1987, police raids began in Huaycán, during which nearly 300 villagers were detained in two successive raids. These operations were part of the State's response to the presence and infiltration of the PCP-Sendero Luminoso in the Huaycán Project. The raids continued intermittently until March and April 1991. Later, in 1991, military bases were installed in Huaycán and Raucana as part of the counterinsurgency strategy.
