PCP-SL advances north of Tocache
Between the end of 1986 and the beginning of 1987, the PCP-SL expanded its control towards the north of Tocache, organizing towns and villages such as Bambamarca, Nuevo Horizonte, Escote and Santa Rosa de Mishollo, until its advance was halted by the MRTA in Juanjuí.
At the end of 1986 and beginning of 1987, the PCP-SL advanced towards the north of Tocache, organizing towns and villages. Among the towns organized were Bambamarca, Nuevo Horizonte, Escote and Santa Rosa de Mishollo. This expansion was parallel to the control that the PCP-SL established over the town of Tocache during the first months of 1987. The expansion of their organizational tasks would reach Punta Arenas/Campanilla, but was frustrated after Juanjuí by the strong presence of the MRTA.
