MRTA attacks on Tupac Amaru anniversary

The MRTA carried out a series of attacks in Lima, Cuzco and Chiclayo on November 4, 1986, commemorating the anniversary of the rebellion of Tupac Amaru II in 1780.

MRTA commemorated another anniversary of the rebellion of Jose Gabriel Condorcanqui (Tupac Amaru II), which occurred on November 4, 1780. In Lima, MRTA carried out a series of coordinated attacks. Other attacks in the provinces, specifically in Cuzco and Chiclayo, are also attributed to the MRTA. This action was part of MRTA's strategy of carrying out armed actions on symbolic dates related to the history of indigenous and popular resistance in Peru.
